FAQs

Which Print Method Will Work Best For Me, Screen or Digital?

Typically, the shorter runs, especially those with a lot of colors or full color, will be most cost effective if printed digitally. Longer runs or short runs of 1 or 2 colors will save you money if they're screenprinted. We'll be happy to price your job out both ways to see which will most suit your needs.

Because digital printing is much slower than screenprinting, longer production runs will almost always be cheaper if screened. There are no set-up charges for digital printing, so despite the slower speed on press, short runs with more colors are usually less expensive if printed digitally.

Occasionally, we will recommend printing a longer run digitally if the art work contains an extreme amount of detail. While it will be your decision, of course, whether or not it's worth the extra money to print the job digitally, we'll be happy to consult with you on this.

In What Format Should I Submit My Artwork?

More often than not, we can work with any graphic format. Ideally, however, one color images are best submitted as jpg, tif, or pdf. Multi-color images are best submitted as Illustrator files if they're spot color, jpg or tif if they're full process color.

Submission of artwork is discussed in much more detail here. We know this can be confusing. Please don't hesitate to ask for our assistance with this. We're happy to help either by phone or email.

What Brand/Type of Shirts Do You Carry?

We carry just about anything you'd want from any major manufacturer in our industry. In t-shirts alone, we carry Alternative Apparel, American Apparel, Anvil, Champion, Comfort Colors by Chouinard, Fruit of the Loom, Gildan, Hanes, Hyp Sportswear, and Jerzees. You can browse our catalog here.

How Long Will It Take for Me to Receive My Order?

Almost every job we do is completed within a week of the time we have the final approved artwork. Need it tomorrow or within a couple of days? We often turn jobs around in just a day or so. If the artwork is ready to go, isn't terribly complex, and the order is from 12 - 500 pieces, we can probably get it done for you. And you'll never incur a rush charge unless we incur additional expense ourselves.

Do You Print Samples?

Yes, but depending on what you're asking us to sample, you might find it expensive to sample a screenprinted job. Our most valuable commodity is our press time. The reason our prices get lower as the orders get larger is that we get to spend more time printing in relation to the amount of time it takes to set up the job. If we're setting up a job to produce a sample, it can often consume quite a bit of time, more, of course, depending upon how many colors are involved.

With digital printing, sampling is much easier and much less expensive as there is practically no set-up time involved.

What Payment Terms Are Available?

We cash, check, Mastercard, Visa, and Paypal. We do accept Purchase Orders from schools and institutions. With approved credit, we can extend terms to regular business customers.

On most custom orders to new customers, we do ask a 50% deposit.

What If I Don't Have Artwork?

We have a talented designer on staff. His name is Paddy and he'll be happy to create artwork for you or take your concept and make it press ready. There is, however, a charge for his services.

Do You Print In-House or Does Someone Else do Your Printing?

While we pride ourselves on our customer service, we are primarily a full-service printing facility. All of our printing is done right here, within yards of the office where Ed and Jen sit when you speak with them. You can be sure that when your job goes to press that your customer service representative will approve the first shirt off the press.

Can We Visit Your Shop?

One of the things most surprising to me is how many printers don't list their address on their website. We're at 420 Pine Street, Burlington VT, just about a mile from downtown. You are most welcome to visit our facility at any time.

The internet is responsible for just a small part of our business. We deal with many of our customers face to face right here in our office. Whether you're local or visiting Vermont on vacation, feel free to stop in. We'd love to show you our facility.
