Printing Process
Digital T-Shirt Printing
In the last few years, several digital t-shirt printers have come on the market. We've chosen the biggest and best, the Kornit 931. When deciding whether to print a process design digitally or by screen process, several factors come in to play.
1. Screening is much faster than digital imaging. Per shirt cost in short runs will always be higher screening than when printing digitally. Short runs will almost always be most cost effective printed digitally. Per shirt costs in long runs will be higher digitally than when screened, however, the set-up costs for screening may offset the savings of the faster screening process. We'll be happy to price your job both ways to ascertain the most cost effective way to go.
2. Digital printing will produce a job with greater detail than you can get with screen printing. If your job has extremely fine detail, you might choose to go with digital imaging even when it's more expensive. Again, we'll be happy to discuss the options with you.
3. Because there are no set-up charges and minimal set-up time with digital printing, sampling is much more cost effective with this process.
